So many women around the world are wearing the wrong bra size and they don’t even know it. Wearing the right size bra can make all the difference in the way a woman carries herself; it can boost a woman’s self esteem and even, in many cases, her posture. So if it makes that big of a difference, then why are so many women wearing the wrong size? Well it can be because many women don’t know how to measure their bra size or they don’t know how their bra is supposed to fit.

Step 1: Measure your band size.

To measure your bra size, you will need to use a fabric measuring tape. To first find the band size, you must position the tape measurer under the breasts, and wrap it all the way around the back and pull it snug. If your measurement is an even number, you must add 2 inches to get your band size. If your measurement is odd, you must add 3 inches. However, if your measurement is over 38 inches, just stick with that measurement for your band size.

Step 2: Measure your cup size.

Second, you measure the largest area around your bust. This number should be larger than your band size. You then subtract the number you got as your band measurement from the number you got for your bust. The number you get as the difference indicates your cup size. So if you got a 1, it would be an A cup; 2 would make it a B cup, etc.

Once you know your proper bra size, it will be easier to find a bra that fits you properly. As you are out, trying on bras, be sure that the bra fits on the first closure. If you have to use the last closure, then the bra is probably too big on you, and will, inevitably, stretch out of shape and lessen the time you can actually wear it. The first time you put on a bra, it may be snug, but remember that bras are made out of elastic and they will, over time and wear, stretch out.

Another really important to look for when shopping for a bra is that the bra cup completely covers your breast tissue to avoid side bulges. That ensures that your cup size is also correct. You must also make sure that your straps aren’t too tight, and that they sit nicely on your shoulders. It is very important that all of these things are correct so that you have a really nice fitting bra. Once you’ve made adjustments, you can go out and conquer the world!
